MATH 3302 --
PROBABILITY AND STATISTICS
Textbook: Statistics for Engineers and Scientists, by W. Navidi, 2nd edition.
Catalog description: The probability and statistics useful for science and engineering applications are developed in this course. The topics include probability distributions, statistical inference, estimation, testing of hypothesis, linear regression, and analysis of variance. Standard statistical packages are used but no computer background is necessary.
Grading policy:
HW 10% of the grade
Three exams, each 20% of the grade
Final exam 30% of the grade
A=90-100, B=80-89, C=70-79, D=60-69, F=0-59
Office hours: Tuesdays
and Thursdays 11:30am-12:30pm
Help: There will be short reviews
before each exam and the final exam. You are encouraged to ask questions in
class and come to the office hours. Additional help is available at the Lab in
735S (9am - 7pm on Mondays through Thursdays,
9am - 3pm on Fridays).
